New York Fashion Week kicked off over the weekend, and while Victoria Beckham is still in the studio preparing for her show, A-lister’s were out in force hoping to get a glimpse of next season’s hottest looks. Some of the highlights over the weekend included Kate Spade’s Sixties inspired presentation and the launch of Peter Pilotto’s exclusive range for Target.
We cannot wait to see some of the looks from Kate Spade in the flesh when they land in UAE stores later in the year, but for now we’re left gushing over the ladylike collection. The show began with dull tones of navy and black, but it was soon spiced up in true Kate Spade style with bright reds, pinks, blues and greens. There was a definite feel of the 1960’s powerful woman, with trousers and pea-coats being the statement look, but we can’t forget the cute embellished mini dresses that will be perfect for a warm winter’s evening.
Meanwhile, over at Rag & Bone fashionistas couldn’t believe their eyes when a streaker stormed the catwalk, but once that excitement was over, the show began and guests were impressed with the oversized shapes in grey and white tones featuring flashes of bright red.
The must-go-to party of the week was the launch of Peter Pilotto’s exclusive collection for American brand Target. Alexa Chung, Taylor Schilling, Dree Hemingway and Diane Kruger were there representing the range which features bright graphic prints in true Peter Pilotto style. The collection will be on sale at Net-a-Porter later this year.
The Alexander Wang show is always on of the most popular, and this season the designer went for a smart look with structured pieces in greys and blacks with a splash of citrus colours.
