Istanbul isn’t generally known for its steakhouses. But one visit to Nusr-Et and you’ll be hankering after charcoal-grilled, melt-in-the-mouth Turkish-style meat dishes.
The royal seal of approval has gained this spot a loyal Emirati following. Good luck with getting a booking; this may be the hottest ticket in town. And they tend not to answer the phone.
This is a carnivore’s dream. Although the crispy calamari and quinoa salad are acclaimed dishes, red meat is the star of the show. Opt for a multi-extravaganza consisting of beef carpaccio, ‘spaghetti’ steak, lokum steak, a juicy gourmet burger and, if you’re brave enough, the gargantuan Tomahawk.
Bring friends. Portions are meant to be shared which makes the hefty pricing more understandable.
Its Turkish take on the ice cream sandwich is worth the calories. Crisp, flaky layers of pistachio baklava encase Gaziantep’s famous vanilla ice-cream; this signature desert is a menu must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Global domination is on the cards. The next destination that will gain a Nusr-Et is London, at the Intercontinental Park Lane.
