Elite SWAT teams will showcase skills from February 9 to February 20
The Dubai Police launched the UAE SWAT Challenge 2020, which will witness fierce competition among 54 teams from 30 countries who will compete in different scenarios such as rescuing hostages or injured officers, taking the tower challenge and overcoming obstacle courses, and it actually looks really cool.
Dubai Police also issued an alert to the residents near the Dubai Police Academy about loud noises as training for the team began in the emirate.
Colonel Musabah Saeed Al Ghafli, general coordinator of the challenge, said the challenge this year is bigger and mightier than last year.
“We have new teams competing this year from China, Pakistan and Chechnya. More than 500 tickets were sold to the public to attend several challenge categories,” Col Al Ghafli said.
