Screen icon Nicole Kidman is injecting a dose of Hollywood glamour into Etihad Airways.
The Hollywood actress stars in a new TV campaign for the Abu Dhabi-based airline and jetted into the UAE for its global launch yesterday.
Nicole also narrates the 30-second and one-minute adverts, which are being screened on TV all over the world. She’ll also appear on billboards, print ads and on social media for Etihad’s Flying Reimagined campaign.
The video was shot onboard Etihad Airways’ flagship Airbus A380 and around various Abu Dhabi landmarks. It also features a digitally created scene of Kidman in the interior of the soon-to-be-opened Louvre Abu Dhabi, designed by celebrated architect Jean Nouvel.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Nicole Kidman, as a globally respected artist, was the perfect voice and face for our story, and embodies worldly sophistication, intelligence, originality and elegance – values which form the foundations of the Etihad brand.”
The advert’s director of photography was British cinematographer Daniel Landin, who’s shot videos for Madonna, the Rolling Stones and David Bowie, among other superstars.
Its opening scene shows Kidman flicking through the pages of a novel at Prague’s Strahov library, while later on she’s seen enjoying the airline’s A-list-worthy facilities, which include three-room suite The Residence by Etihad, the only such private living space in commercial aviation.
