The UAE has a new public holiday

The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has announced that the 30th of November every year from now on will be a national holiday known as Martyr's Day.

The day will be a tribute to the sacrifices made by the nation's martyrs and its loyal people, who’ve offered their lives to keep the UAE flag flying while they were performing their duties within and outside the country, in civilian, military and humanitarian fields.
