New York Fashion Week Update: Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and Olivia Palermo Rock the Fashion Week Frows
New York Fashion Week kicked off this weekend and there were a host of stars putting on their glad rags to sit on the frow. From Olivia Palermo to Nicki Minaj to Lady Gaga everyone was there, except for the queen of fashion Anna Wintour, who skipped the event of the year for a tennis match!
While who was on the front row was the gossip on everyone lips the shows themselves were truly glam as always. Here’s the best bit from days 1, 2 and 3:
The Nepalese designer went back to his roots and took influence from his native country. With prints that resembled mountain landscapes, flowers and mountaineering equipment. This was made glamorous with organza and chiffon fabrics, and delicate embellishment. Colours cam in blues, silvers and purples which is a wintery twist on spring/summer. With celeb fans including January Jones and Jennifer Lopez, we’re sure to see some of these looks on the red carpet soon!
Millie Mackintosh with Zara Martin
Michelle Obama’s fave designer Jason Wu put on a spectacular show which came in time with the announcement that the designer has sold a majority stake in his brand. Jason’s show was all about the working woman – with smart grown up looks that could be worn into the evening. Sparkling fabrics made safari0chic day wear glamorous. While some of the frocks were a little risqué for Michelle, we’re sure she’ll have her own custom-made designs of the looks.Top model Karlie Kloss got cheers as she walked the runway for her pal.
Lacoste brought a sport edge to the catwalk as it presented its S/S15 collection. The collection itself was a combination of comfort and style, taking influences from baseball among other sports. The sporty pieces were mixed with tailored wide leg pants and grown up pieces. On the frow bizarrely was Millie Mackintosh who looked stunning in a pink ensemble.
Coming up today are shows from DKNY, and Nanette Lepore and of course, Victoria Beckham! Stay tuned for all the details.
