Sofitel Luxury Hotels has opened its first property in Abu Dhabi – its second in the UAE.

Located at the eastern tip of Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, the hotel is close to the seafront and business and financial centre, as well as to Saadiyat and Yas Islands.

The hotel décor has been designed to showcase contemporary design. An authorised and certified painting by Pierre Soulages, French artist, hangs in the lobby, as do Jean Cocteau lithographs and sculptures inspired by Brancusi.

All of the 282 rooms and suites blend modern design with French ‘art de recevoir’. All rooms are fitted with Sofitel’s exclusive MyBed concept with furniture inspired by Buren, a French painter and sculptor.

Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche debuts with six bars and restaurants. Corniche All Day dining is a mix of French and Arabic cuisines. La Mer offers guests a la carte fine dining with the best Gulf seafood, prepared in French style. Silk and Spice offers a contemporary take on Thai cuisine.

Chill’O pool bar and terrace, Jazz’N Fizz Bar and the Le Café round out the property’s food and beverage offering.
