Abu Dhabi will be abuzz this Eid thanks to celeb-packed shows, night markets and mall specials as the capital celebrates its first ever EidFest Abu Dhabi. Get ready to say hello to Lebanese superstar Najwa Karam and Moroccan MBC star Mona Amarcha, among lots of other big names across the two days of the event on 19 August and 20 August.
Spearheaded by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), on 19 August EidFest will host Moroccan MBC star Mona Amarcha, winner of the Album 5: Noujoum El Arab (Arab Stars) competition who has gone on to record hit albums in Egyptian and Gulf Arabic. Mona shares the bill with Lebanese star Melhem ‘The Boss’ Zein.
Then, heading to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) stage on August 20 is Lebanese songstress and fashion icon Najwa Karam. Having sold over 50 million records worldwide and judging the hit TV show Arab’s Got Talent, Najwa has also produced the Middle East’s first 3D music video.
Supporting the August 20 lineup will be up-and-coming 30-year-old Emirati star Mansour Zayed, whose first recording Ya dam3i 3ini was a sensation on YouTube.
There’ll also be a live performance of the hit Jordanian TV kids music show, Karameesh, at Abu Dhabi National Theatre on August 20. Plus, malls in the emirate will have their own special setups to add to the festive ambience. Abu Dhabi Mall goers can visit an Arabian Souk, discover henna painting and traditional food. Khalidiya Mall will have traditional music and dance shows, and in Al Ain, Bawadi Mall will host the Moroccan band Ittihad Tanger Andalus.
