Based on the true story of one of the world’s most enigmatic royals, The King’s Speech tells the tale of Bertie (Firth), the stuttering King of England.

Born with a debilitating speech impediment, King George VI was suddenly thrust into the throne following his father’s death and his brother’s scandalous abdication. But with the country on the brink of war and in need of a strong leader, his wife, Queen Elisabeth (Carter) arranges for him to meet an expert speech therapist named Lionel Logue.

Using unorthodox methods to cure his problem, Lionel and Elisabeth help Bertie overcome his stutter to deliver a powerful and unforgettable speech.
