This American expat mum of three boys steered her online marketplace dedicated to selling products for babies and children to phenomenal growth in 2012.

What is Mumzworld?
Mumzworld is the first and largest one-stop online marketplace for everything mother, baby and child. Consumers can search, compare and buy products, and get them delivered within two to three days free of charge.

You launched in 2011. How has the company grown and what was your biggest achievement in 2012?
The team at launch was six people. Today the company has a staff of over 50 people. We have over 67,000 products across 250 brands, of which 22 brands are sold exclusively through Mumzworld. Today one in every two customers buys three or more times, and our returns are less than two per cent.

What was the inspiration behind the concept?
I just wasn’t satisfied with the product range or information available in the crowded malls or the few online stores here. I envisioned giving families one place to search, compare and buy from a really huge range of brands.

What’s your favourite item?
I love them all. In fact, we have rejected products that we feel do not fit the quality that we deem as reasonable. Since I have three boys I am a big fan of Dr Brown bottles – they helped me through sleepless nights of colic with all three boys. I also love Lego – I think we have the whole collection in our house!
