Is Miley Cyrus the Next Britney Spears?
The words “mental cleansing” do not sound very reassuring, but a source gushed to Hollywood Life that Miley Cyrus is in the middle of a major “mind sweep” because of all the stress in her life.
The starlet’s pal dished, “She’s just got a lot going on right now and wants to be… in a positive frame of mind. I’m not sure if this is because she’s working out more or stressed.” Could all the anxiety be about her impending nuptials with fiancé Liam Hemsworth? Just last week Miley sent a mysterious tweet that could be interpreted as the end of the young couple. The former Disney star tweeted, “Maybe you could’ve been something I’d be good at,” lyrics from the song Call It Off, which sounds like a cryptic message to us!
In the exercise department, Miley could be driving herself batty with too many hours on the treadmill. In June, Showbiz Spy reported that Miley flies her personal trainer all around the world with her, paying about “$25,000 [Dhs91,000] a month in order to maintain her figure”. Super thin Miley defended her actions, saying, “I don’t mind flying him wherever I am. It’s worth every cent. I never thought I could look like this.”
Even if she’s an exercise addict, with her relationship on the rocks and a habit of dressing way too sultry, Miley’s on the up and up professionally. Her flop of a film LOL is making millions in Scandinavia – seems she’s very popular in colder climates! – and E! Online reported that she’s being considered for a judge on American Idol. The reality show is in major need of a big name after current judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler quit. Of her decision, Jen said, “The time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I have kinda put on hold.”
What she didn’t mention is that Idol’s ratings are down. Could producers be looking for Miley to go head to head with X Factor judge Britney Spears and get the numbers up? Brit has a rep for storming off set, and Miley could certainly pull some Brit-esque behaviour on Idol.
That’s clearly what the two shows are going for, as rumour has it Idol’s also courting the king of cracking up Charlie Sheen, while X Factor reportedly wants drama-loving Khloe Kardashian as their host.
Back in 2010, Katy Perry predicted that Miley would be the next Britney, saying, “Oh my God, poor girl, she’s Britney Spears all over again. It’s happening right before our eyes.” Let’s hope 19-year-old Miley can make it to 20 without fulfilling Katy’s prediction!
