It’s your chance to get up close with the man whose need for speed is legendary in Formula One circles. Michael Schumacher is coming to Abu Dhabi on 9 November, and we’ve got deets on the very special cause that he's going to be part of on our shores.
The seven-time Formula One world champion will be here for a benefit dinner hosted by Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri in Abu Dhabi during the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The event is being held to support Special Need Centre of Abu Dhabi (a non-profit organisation that has provided education and therapeutic services for children since 1989), and to expand their campus which houses students with disabilities.
Guests would be treated to a four-course meal from the specially designed Grand Prix menus available at Pearls and Caviar, Hoi An and Shang Palace throughout Grand Prix week. Dinner will be followed by a live auction at the alfresco lounge of Pearls and Caviar - the money collected will go directly to the centre.
The auction will have Schumacher donating his autographed race suit, along with a seven-course dinner for two at Pearls and Caviar, prepared by guest Chef Jean Paul Lourdes, and there’s also a two-night stay at the Executive Suite at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri up for grabs.
INFO: Register yourself as a volunteer at the Special Care Centre of Abu Dhabi and be part of the draw for two guest passes. Dine at Hoi An, Shang Palace, or Pearls and Caviar on 7 November to be entered into a draw for tickets or like Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/shangrilaabudhabi to win tickets.
