Meet Some of the UAE's Most Creative Ladies
Deborah Henning

Deborah Henning
Associate Director of Shoreditch
Muse at The Press Room
From Manchester, UK
"After studying Fashion Design in the UK, I went on to work with brands like Alexander McQueen and Sass & Bide. Throughout my career, I’ve mentored brands and worked with up and coming labels to launch themselves successfully and building on this, I set up Shoreditch Muse two years ago to help brands introduce themselves to the Middle East. In partnership with The Press Room, we offer designers showroom space, brand development, PR and more. I also run my own fashion label. I am always inspired by travel. I spend a lot of my (very little) spare time exploring, going to new cities and countries. The more I see the more ideas I get, so I think it is very important to be out of your comfort zone and experience new things. The smallest object, shape, colour or person can inspire a whole collection. Working with new designers in the showroom, I am always on the hunt for new and undiscovered talent, so travelling gives me the best exposure to this."

Meredith Taylor-Damouni
Brand Director of Capital D Group
From Sydney, Australia
"I began my career by studying Visual Communication. From there I specialised in fashion through art direction and styling, as well as working in publishing as a fashion director. Today I combine my skills from creative direction with business to build our brands. Film, music, people, and energy – all of these things have an influence on me creatively. For our brands, each have their own goals and personality, but they all endorse the common elements of passion, creativity, professionalism and innovation - which are also huge inspirational influencers for our whole team and the codes we live by! I am thankful everyday for the opportunities that being part of the developing creative industries in the Middle East offers."

Giulia Arnaboldi
Stylist
From Milan, Italy
"I have a big passion for fashion. I studied fashion at IED school and then I started my career working in magazines. I am an aesthete, everything beautiful is an inspiration to me, whether it be flowers, or an old picture, blue sky, or a dress. I love working in the UAE because sometimes it’s like a white paper and you can write your own story, it’s full of possibilities."

Vivienne Balla
Photographer
From Budapest, Hungary
"When I was a child I wanted to be a fashion designer, and that’s what leads to my love of fashion now ‑ now I know that my camera is the best way for me to capture that world. Everything can inspire: a good book, beautiful music, other artists. As a photographer, you must be open to impression. In terms of my own creative style, I like to try lots of things... for example, I usually play with lights, compositions, and different moods, but I think all of my work has an element of femininity. Working in the UAE, I love that I can interact with so many international practitioners and also represent my Hungarian background to them, to show them what we can do."
