Mariah Carey: Dying To Be Pregnant?
First sign of a baby bump or just a buffet binge?

Mariah Carey had a difficult time getting pregnant with twins Moroccan and Monroe, and the problems continued during pregnancy. But, in spite of her dramatic road to motherhood, the 42-year-old wants more children! A source told Star, “Mariah has made no secret of the fact that she wants baby number three, even though she had major health issues the first time around.” The singer and her husband, Nick Cannon, 31, are said to already be trying for baby number three, even though he’s just recovered from kidney failure. And judging by recent pics, Mariah could already be pregnant! But is pregnancy dangerous for Mariah who gained 70lb during her first pregnancy and suffered from high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes? Many doctors say yes.

Experts at the Mayo Clinic report, “Babies of mothers who have gestational diabetes have a higher risk of developing obesity and type 2 diabetes… and untreated gestational diabetes can result in a baby’s death either before or shortly after birth.” There is also a greater risk of miscarriage at Mariah’s age, and – as she told Access Hollywood in 2010 – she’s already suffered one miscarriage in 2008 that put her in a “dark and difficult” place. Doctors told CNN that the chance of miscarriage after 40 is one in three. While pregnant, Mariah admitted she was afraid she’d never walk again. Should she really risk it all for a third child?
