Margot Robbie has reportedly signed on to play Barbie in a new movie.
The film, based on the famed doll by Mattel, has been in the works since last year, when it was announced comedienne Amy Schumer would take on the lead role.
She subsequently dropped out of the project and was reportedly replaced by Anne Hathaway, but she is no longer involved in the movie either, and the I, Tonya star has now stepped in as the lead.
Margot will also produce the film for her company Lucky Chaps.
Barbie had originally been slated to be developed for Sony Pictures, but studio bosses reportedly passed on the project, and executives at Mattel have since taken back the rights, according to Variety.
A director for the Barbie film has yet to be announced.
