Make-Up Artist to the Stars Found Dead
Katy Perry has written an emotional tribute to make-up artist Jake Bailey, who was found dead on Friday.
Bailey, who also helped stars like Selena Gomez, Emmy Rossum and Katie Holmes get red carpet and stage ready, reportedly took his own life.
His body was discovered by an assistant at his Los Angeles home. Officials suspect he succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Bailey, who also worked as a photographer, took care of Perry's look for the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, and the singer took to Instagram over the weekend to offer up a heartfelt tribute to her late friend.
"My sweet, sensitive soul," she began the note, which was accompanied by photos of the singer with Bailey. "What a wonderful journey and friendship we had together. What beautiful art we created together. We conquered the world's biggest stages, together.
"I know you felt life so intensely and it created this incredible artistic passion in you that came out in everything you touched, from the amazing images you took to the ways you painted your muses, highlighting the beauty in everyone. You had the most otherworldly eye to detail."
Katy also raved about Bailey's eyelash work, insisting "even Bambi couldn't rival" his "precise lash".
Channing Tatum also paid tribute to the make-up artist in a Twitter post writing: "Jake we will miss you. (Daughter) Everly will miss her very first make up artist. Big love brother! We will see each other again."
