The Dubai Fitness Challenge kicks off in a matter of days, so we have quizzed two Dubai fitness experts and trainers on their top tips for a super-fit Dubai 30x30.
Fitness expert and marathon runner Manal Rostom told us, "The Dubai Fitness Challenge is a great initiative to help you start a healthy lifestyle that you can stick to in the long term, beyond the 30 days. And what’s great is you won’t be alone in this journey. The whole city will be taking part giving you the ultimate motivation to get started. Trying anything for the first time will always be scary at the beginning. The aim is to start somewhere and believe that you'll get better day by day."
"My advice for new comers is to set a goal. Aim to run your first 5k or lose 5 kilos in a month," she went on to say. "Find something you’re passionate about doing, and go for it. Make sure to surround yourself with likeminded people who will encourage you to reach that finish line. The Dubai Fitness Challenge offers a month long schedule of classes suitable for beginners to advanced athletes, kids to adults, and the best thing about it, it’s a community effort. Regardless of your level, the one thing I would advise is to always monitor your heart rate. the whole point of exercise is not just to clock more kilometers. It’s supposed to get you to be fitter. One of the ways to do that, is by measuring your heart rate recovery time.”
