Once the red carpet has been rolled up and the dresses packed away it's often a waiting game for the key trends to hit the shops.

So this season instead of waiting for a recreation of the numerous styles sure to come out off Oscars night hit the make-up counter and update your new look for Spring/Summer now. Take inspiration from the gorgeous gowns and get pretty with blush tones, silver streaks, and lots of fab mascara.

MAC have just released their new MAC Blush Ombrewhich is a comressed pot of supreme colour. Shading from pink to purple the colour hues add a great highlight to the cheek and enhances the skins natural tones. The appearance of the blush is lightly pearled to create that glowing radiance celebrities often sport on the red carpet. Think Zoe Saldana and Cameron Diaz.

Max Factor is ahead of the game with their new Hollywood style Max Factor False Lash Mascara. I tried and tested the lash creation the other night, and for someone who usually wears false lashes, the effect was near perfect. A friend commented that my lashes were looking super long and another friend piped up saying "that's because she wears false lashes" so you can imagine how suprised they were when my reaction was "no its the new Max Factor mascara". Let's just say they were two seconds away from leaving the party and running to the shops then and there.

The Max Factor Masterpiece Eyeshadowis also worth a look in. A great colour palette which even includes a streak of silver and a splash of gold. Perfect for recreating Demi Moore's look.

Lipstick was also an added splash of colour on the carpet. Bright touches of pink and orange were prominent as were nude tones. The Sephora Rougeis an absolute gem when it comes to high intensity colour. Sandra Bullock was a fan of the bright lip and it certainly won her an Oscar make-up nod. And when it comes to Oscar style no one does it better than Michael Kors. He has just produced a new make-up range in conjunction with Estee Lauder. The Estee Lauder Michael Kors Very Hollywood Lip Sheenis ideal for a light lip. The colours are perfect for a day to night transformation.

When it comes to Tinsel Town glamour, make-up trends are always on trend and a glowing example of what to follow in the coming season. But don't forget the hair too.

It was all about the updo at this year’s Oscars with the majority of leading ladies throwing their tresses into a messy bun or a sleek wound up pony tail. Funnily enough, it was the night two big winners, Sandra Bullock and Kathryn Bigelow, who opted for a relax style letting their tousled hair fall naturally.

So who rocked the updo best?

Kristen Stewart went for rocker chic with her messy bun which helped show off her stunning features and sculpted décolletage. Miley Cyrus went with an effortless and her elegant hairstyle showed off her stunning earrings.

Rachel McAdams, Charlize Theron and Elizabeth Banks all threw their blonde locks into updos to reveal their sleek collar bones, and toned upper backs.

And there you have it ladies, the trends for hair and make-up for Spring/Summer 2010.
