Madonna Accused of Ripping Off Her New Track!
Madonna is the queen of reinvention, but are her skills getting rusty? Her Madgesty has just been accused of copying her new song Give Me All Your Luvin’ from a track by a Brazilian musician.
Surely after 30 years in the music biz, the Material Girl knows better. Not so, says musician Joao Brasil who claims that the chorus of Madge’s track sung with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj is a total rip-off of his tune L.O.V.E. Banana.
If he’s right, Madge could be facing some legal trouble as she preps for her big world tour. Brasil, a self-professed Madonna fan, says he doesn’t want to sue the superstar, but his bosses might go that route. The honchos at Brasil’s record company and a legal team are considering court action.
Head-to-head with the diva in a court room? That doesn’t sound like much fun. The Brazilian musician told the Folha da Sao Paulo newspaper, “I still don’t understand what happened. I’m a huge fan of hers. If it’s plagiarism, then even better. She is always at the cutting edge of music, so it’s a good sign about what I do… It’s in their hands, they’re looking at how to proceed and what they can do. But personally I don’t want to do anything. The last thing I need in my life is a fight with Madonna.” Smart man.
