What’s it all about? Lemon, pistachio, marshmallow – no, not your favourite ice-cream

flavours but, when mixed with smatterings of duck-egg blue and lilac, they’re the

pastel-packed colours of the season (minus the cone and flake). Designers like Etro,

Alberta Ferretti and Carolina Herrera all opted for this pretty, girly look, which screams

delicate petal, just with more of a futuristic nod than a mother-of-the-bride feel.

Who it suits? These cute colours look great on paler skin tones giving you that ethereal, feminine look, but with a forward-thinking edge.

How to do it: “Apply a soft wash of pastel colour over your eyes and make brows lighter, rather than darker, so as to not break the colour,” says brand make-up artist for Mikyajy, Tanya Rex. “Wear it chalky on your eyes, pearly on your lips or a dusting on your cheeks. Don’t go overboard; keep it soft and subtle.”

Hot Tip! “To get this look right, you should see where the colour starts – but not where it finishes,” says senior make-up artist for MAC Middle East, Vimi Joshi.
