Lisa Scott-Lee at the Superhero Brunch
I love brunching with my superheroes
As Ahlan!’s resident family correspondent it’s down to me to review the family-themed brunches. As soon as I mentioned Mazina’s new Superhero brunch to my kids, Jaden and Star Lily, they literally counted down the days with excitement until the big event, discussing what they’d dress up as.
It’s not only children who can dress up – adults are encouraged to join in. I opted out this time as I wanted to wear my new white and navy Ted Baker dress, fresh off the catwalk (see right), but I’ll dress for the occasion next time. Jaden opted for Spiderman and cleverly wore his sunglasses underneath the mask making it look even more authentic, while Star Lily dressed up as Bat Girl, and they both won a prize for their efforts.
There’s a fab children’s area with a bouncy castle and a movie screen, entertainment by the brilliant and funny Magic Phil, who’s been performing in Dubai for three years now and is very popular with the little ones and adults alike. Plus there’s a buffet of kid-friendly food here, so they can play and eat while being supervised by the staff.
The food for grownups includes seafood, sushi, Indian classics and a traditional British roast dinner with a choice of four meats. It ticked all the boxes and we can’t wait to take our little superheroes back next Saturday. Here we come to save the day!
