From stealing to scrubbing, LiLo gets her not so glamorous comeuppance. The former child star was sentenced to morgue duty after pocketing a necklace worth about Dhs10,000 this year - a humiliating yet small price to pay for avoiding a potential 18-month stint in prison.

LiLo is required to complete 16 hours out of a mandatory 120 hours of community service at the LA County Morgue. Sources say the Mean Girls star tried to make a good impression as she scrubbed floors and cleaned toilets during her eight-hour shift.

“She’s holding up fine and she’s a strong girl,” her spokesman Steve Honig said. “She understands that she has to comply with the court and it’s the judge’s ruling and she gets that. She is gonna do what she needs to do.”

LiLo claims she is being “made an example of”, but with her fifth police mug shot in five years, the evidence seems to point to the contrary.

It’s not time to pull out the tiny violins for the actress just yet. It seems that despite being condemned to morgue duty, after blowing off nine scheduled appointments at LA’s Downtown Women’s Centre, LiLo is still not taking it all too seriously. She was turned away from her first duty day after arriving 40 minutes late.

However she did try to make it up the following day by buying lunch for all the volunteers, which was abruptly turned away by the morgue’s Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. Let’s hope day three goes a bit better.
