By the end of 2016, the Sameness Project had distributed 150,000 water bottles, handshakes, smiles and We Care About You labelled facecloths as part of our Water for Workers initiative. Engagement and interaction between those handing out the packs and the workers receiving it is the aim, in order to erase the lines that separate people.
We’ve also trained another batch of 500 mall cleaners and construction workers on health and wellness for our initiative We’ve Got Your Back. This project links Dubai fitness professionals with workers, to instruct them in stretches and exercises they can use to combat the physical stresses of their jobs, thereby promoting long-term physical health.
The yearly tour of our Conversation Chair, an interactive art piece, took its turn at Lululemon in Mall of the Emirates over Ramadan to spread the Sameness message of empathy. It’s exactly what it sounds like – a chair where people can pause for a bit and sit and have a conversation with a complete stranger using conversation starters floating above them on helium balloons.
We’re all winging it in life, so have compassion for yourself and others, and develop a deeper understanding of what it is to be human.
