Legoland Water Park to Open on Sheikh Zayed Road!
It’s Happy Thursday for theme park fans as yet another attraction is coming our way!
Legoland could open in Dubai in October 2016, says Dubai Parks and Resorts, and be made with up to 60m plastic bricks!
The resort will feature some of the global brand’s most popular water rides, including a two-million-litre wave pool and the Build-A-Raft River, which lets guests design and build their own customised raft. Kids can go wild with the interactive Imagination Station, building bridges, dams and even cities, then testing their designs against the flow of water.
Legoland Dubai, the first in the Middle East, will offer more than 40 rides, shows and other activities set within six themed zones – Lego City, Adventure, Lego Kingdom, Lego Create, Lego Factory and Miniland. Showcasing some of the region’s most iconic buildings and landmarks, all built to scale using Lego pieces, it’s primarily aimed at children aged two to 12, although it’s likely to appeal to kids and adults of all ages.
The massive Dhs10.5bn project, a partnership with UK-based Merlin Entertainments, will occupy 7.6 million square metres of land along Sheikh Zayed Road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, close to The Palm Jebel Ali. Almost seven million visitors are expected in 2017, its first full year in action.
