Lana Del Rey, like many others was affected by the shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio the past week.

Using her sadness and fear, she penned a raw and heartfelt new track inspired by the string of tragedies. The singer took to Instagram to post a preview of the new track titled 'Looking for America' and explained how it all came together just hours after writing it.

The song’s emotional lyrics reflect the singer’s longing for a better, less scary version of her country. She sings a soft ballad: “I’m still looking for my own version of America. One without the guns, the flag can fly free. No bombs in the sky, only fireworks and you and I…”

She explains herself in the caption saying that she’s not a politician and is not trying to be one and is just sharing her sentiments on the horrific tragedies.

Her new album, Norman F*****g Rockwell is set to release on August 30.
