Lady Gaga strikes against strike

21 Oct 2010

Why she’s refusing to perform in Paris

Lady Gagahas taken her own action against the strikes in Paris this weekend (October 22-24) by going on strike herself. The Poker Face hitmaker was due to make an appearance in the French capital as part of her Monster Ball tour. However Parisian residents have taken to the streets in protest against French President, Nicolas Sakozy who is trying to lift the retirement age from 60 to 62.

The outcry has caused massive disturbances in the city causing Gaga to bow out of her appearance at the Bercy. "Unfortunately, as there is no certainty that the trucks can make it to the Bercy for this weekend's shows, the Lady Gaga performances are now postponed,” read a statement on the singer’s website. “Lady Gaga apologises to her fans for any inconvenience."

The show has been resecheduled for December 19 and 20.
