When they say French, they mean French. This world-famous Parisian eatery has unashamedly maintained its Gallic character and hasn’t fallen into line with many other imports that tweak their brand to fit in with the local market.

Get your Vitamin D fix, even when you’re sitting inside. Part of the main restaurant lets the sun shine through its delicate glass ceiling, but if you prefer proper alfresco dining, head for the beautiful terrace and take in the views.

Drink whatever you want. The exceptionally talented head barman, who has been flown over from France, can make any beverage you choose, should there be nothing you desire from the extensive menu.

Even their non-French food is fantastic. Nobody but the English should be able to do an Eton Mess dessert this well, yet somehow La Cantine has nailed it! Be warned that one of these is more than enough for two people to share, though.

Respect the authority. The waiters are not only extremely clued up on every single menu item (including the drinks) but they also add to the atmosphere of the restaurant with their bravado and style.

SAMPLE MENU...
