Kristen Stewart is so excited about her wedding scene with real life boyfriend Robert Pattinson that you would be forgiven for thinking the couple had walked down the aisle for real.
Every little girl dreams of having the picture perfect wedding and for Kristen that dream has come true – sort of. The brunette beauty has been not so secretly dating co-star Rob since their Twilight saga began, and finally the fans have their wish of watching them tie the knot on screen. And for Kristen the whole experience of walking down the aisle has been one to remember.
“It felt oddly personal,” she said. “It is very, very pretty. I remember walking on set and going up to the director Bill [Condon] and saying ‘Wow, thank you so much for giving me this wedding!’”.
The personal relationship between co-stars Kristen, 21, and Rob, 25, has been as closely watched by those of their characters Bella and Edward. For months they denied rumours that they were dating, but recently they admitted it after Kristen slipped up in an interview admitting, “my boyfriend is English.” And it wasn’t difficult to guess who this English man is!
Speaking to us exclusively about the relationship between Twilight characters Bella and Edward, we can’t help up think that she is talking about her real-life relationship with the hunky R-Patz.
“It is the first time that you feel like that you are not watching a story of how they are going to stay together or not stay together,” she said. “They are done, it is very official, they are united… they are not just enamoured with each other they are really able to live.”
When the notoriously secretive couple finally came out with the truth that they are indeed dating, it caused a frenzy. Hearts were broken worldwide and the couple became instant hot news.
So how does Kristen cope with attention from fans? “I still find it odd when people start crying in front of me,” she says. “I find that hard because it is not natural, you want to help them out but you have to remember that it is a good thing that they are experiencing.”
The top-secret filming of the long-awaited wedding scene was as closely protected as their relationship. “It was like Secret Service style and insane,” Kristen revealed, adding that cell phones and cameras were banned and between takes she was covered with a Voltari cloak to prevent any snaps of her wedding dress being leaked online.
She said, “The crew was completely inconvenienced and grumbling round the set like ‘I can’t have my cellphone.’ The rest of us were like ‘You don’t understand what this means, thank you so much. But if any pictures of this dress gets on the Internet I’ll die!’”
Finishing filming was the end of an era for the whole cast, in particular for the very passionate Kristen. “I can’t draw the line between myself and stuff that I do,” she revealed. “With everything I do and every role I have it is hard for me to take myself out of it.”
At least the actress won’t be leaving empty handed as she departs with the grand prize, Rob’s heart!
She adds, “I had been building up to these moments for four years. I was 17 when I started doing these movies. They are not all completely fantasy, they are very rooted in a reality that I can completely see myself in.”
However the fantasy wedding could in fact be genuine under certain laws. Rob has revealed the director used a real priest for the on screen ceremony which means they could already be officially married in the eyes of the church.
“The wedding scene’s funny,” he said. “Technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married.”
