If you’re a regular listener to my Breakfast show, you’re sure to have heard my gimmicky song, I’m Famous. I did it all for a bit of fun and the track was very tongue-in-cheek, but the positive reaction I had from people on social media was overwhelming. In fact, the response was so good that I decided to get back into the studio and make another hit with the help of my good friend and UAE-based Moroccan rap star Two Tone. We started hanging out in the studio trying out some different sounds and looping an assortment of beats together, and we were actually just having fun to see what kind of track we could make at first, but eventually, as the process went on, we really started to click and the end product was something we really believed in.
After a whole lot of deliberation about whether we should seriously release the song, we decided to go ahead and do it, and now I can officially unveil In it For Love. We’re really proud of this one and it’s been received well, with radios in the UAE and also in Lebanon playing it, as well as the number-one station in Spain. In It for Love is also available for download on iTunes and I’ll be singing it at RedFestDXB – speaking of which, we gave away hundreds of tickets earlier this week when we broadcast live from the Virgin Megastore in Mall of the Emirates. The line-up is amazing and I’m personally excited to be a part of it for the first time ever. If you weren’t one of the lucky ones who got your hands on a complimentary pass last week, don’t worry. We still have a few available to buy, so log onto www.redfestdxb.com right now and get yours to see Iggy Azalea, Kiesza, Kid Ink, The Script, Jeremih, Bastille and many more.
