Kim Kardashian and Kanye West take desperate measures to shed the kilos, fast!

There’s always some new fad coming up in Hollywood and the inhabitants of Tinseltown are usually eager to follow any quick-fix programme that promises instant results. The newest trend has our favourite stars going to great lengths to lose weight by undertaking extreme diets to dramatically transform their bodies.

Despite having a body that’s the envy of women around the world, Kim Kardashian is on a mission to shed a few final pounds and make her famous curvy figure an even more attractive asset; however, rather than follow the example of her sister Khloé, who’s spent the past seven months working out in the gym, Kim has turned to a drastic liquid diet. She’d already dropped a whopping 50lb since giving birth to her daughter North West last year, but now Kim feels she’s too fat after looking at pictures of herself standing next to veteran supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell in Ibiza last month. A source told Heat magazine: “Kim was mortified by how huge she looked next to the models. She’s been raging about it, saying she felt obese and short beside these women, who are half as wide but a foot taller.”

Kim, 33, is said to be horrified by her huge “hips and butt”, and is finding it “much harder to lose” weight than she’d initially thought. The mother-of-one has been speaking out about her weight worries on Twitter in a bid to help get advice from women in similar positions. In a series of complaints and questions, she tweeted: “Do any of you mums see their bodies just not the same? A different shape? My hips and butt are huge now, they were big to begin with! Can’t seem to shake this last 15-20lb of baby weight. No more excuses, my baby is one year old!”

Kardashian didn’t end her rant there, adding: “I’m not going to call it baby weight because that’s an excuse. I just gained weight and that’s it! Why is it so much harder to lose after baby though?!”

Kim’s obsessive dieting has clearly rubbed off on hubby Kanye West, who’s ditched his favourite food, fried chicken, in favour of just three smoothies a day. Poor Kanye, 37, has himself been feeling insecure about his waistline and is now banned from eating calorific treats such as macaroni and cheese and mouth-watering meat covered in batter, as part of a new regime forcing him to eat healthy food at least five times a day. 

Harley Pasternak, who’s training the Bound 2 rapper, explained: “My programme for him covers exercise in the gym, his steps outside and his lifestyle habits and diet,” Pasternak says. “He eats five times a day, with three meals and two snacks.” In order to achieve a more athletic body Kanye has to reset his diet with a stomach-rumbling regime, consuming only “three smoothies a day and two crunchy snacks” for the first five days. Yeezy will have a white smoothie for breakfast, red smoothie for lunch, and green smoothie for dinner, made with protein, fibre and healthy fat in every meal, and with crunchy snacks in between. Mmm, that sounds truly delicious! 

“Snacks are either high-fibre crackers with turkey, roasted chickpeas or air-popped popcorn or an apple with low-fat cheese,” Harley enthusiastically added. Celebrity

Harley insists that Kanye, and his other celebrity clients, who include Miley Cyrus, Halle Berry and Robert Pattinson, email him daily to tell him what they’ve eaten. 

He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I tell my clients they have me in their pockets and I have them in mine. They all have to do a minimum 12,000 steps per day. They carry the Fitbit in their pocket or on their wrist like a watch, and it’s linked with their phone so the information gets zapped straight to my computer. They must email me daily saying what they’ve eaten, how many steps they’ve taken and the hours they’ve slept.” It all sounds a little regimented for us, but go, Team Kimye!
