Kim Kardashian's Weightloss Woes
Being a celebrity isn’t as easy as some of us may think. Yes, they have riches beyond our wildest dreams and live lives of untold luxury, but they still have the same body insecurities as the rest of us. Whether it’s a case of them being too thin or too curvy, the pride of Tinseltown are living proof that at the end of the day they’re just like us mere mortals.
Kim Can’t Shift the Pounds
Her body shape is part of the reason the public remain fascinated by her, but even Kim Kardashian isn’t entirely happy with her well-documented figure. The mother-of-one has struggled to get her physique back to the way she wants it since giving birth to daughter North just over a year ago. But now, Kim’s so desperate to shed a few more pounds that the frustration has even boiled over into her marriage and hubby Kanye West is losing his already limited cool over the issue. The outspoken rapper threatened to fire Kim’s personal trainer after the health professional claimed there was no way Kim, 34, could drop an extra 15lb. The reality TV superstar revealed all on last week’s episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians as she explained to sister Khloé how tense her weight is making Kanye. Kim said: “Do you want to die? Kanye literally went crazy on the trainer today. She was like, ‘So what are your goals, tell me everything.’ And I was like, ‘I need to get down to 120lb.’ She’s like, ‘There’s no way. I can’t even imagine you 15lb lighter’.” That’s apparently when Kanye erupted.
Kim continued: “Kanye’s like, ‘Wait a minute. You’re the trainer and you’re telling me you can’t imagine her 15lb lighter? We need to get another trainer, then, because if I tell you she needs to lose weight in between her toe, you would have figured out a f***ing toe weight’.”

Kanye may have lost the plot when it comes to his wife’s size, but the problem seems to be more down to Kim and her poor diet rather than her trainer’s lack of vision. Speaking to ETOnline.com, Kim said: “I just started seeing a nutritionist, because I don’t understand why… I mean I do [understand] because I eat really bad.” Kim loves nothing more than hanging out on the sofa and gorging on soul food such as fried chicken, so she’s trying to switch things up in order to slim down. She added: “I just started to eat really healthy and work out more, trying to change my lifestyle. I want to know what to cook and how to cook healthier. We really just need to change the way we live.”
Giuliana Fights Back Against Critics
While Kim tries desperately to lose that final bit of what she perceives as bulge, Giuliana Rancic is at the other end of the scale trying to gain some weight. The TV presenter, and friend of Ahlan!, has come under heavy criticism for her tiny frame, but the 40-year-old has answered her critics head on with a dignified reply. She told People magazine: “Some people were saying ‘The cancer is probably back’ and they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, ‘If someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it’.” Giuliana, who had a double mastectomy in 2011 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, confessed that the medication she takes to supress the disease affects her metabolism and that’s the reason she can’t put on weight. “I started noticing that I was eating a lot, but not gaining weight at all. I’m sorry that some people think I’m disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there’s nothing I can do. I’m lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine.” Even though she’s trying to put a brave face on things, Rancic admits that she’s finding it increasingly hard to listen to all the negative comments. “I look in the mirror and it’s hard for me. I’m really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can’t.”
Sam Smith’s Quick Fix Diet
One person who’s happy with his body is Grammy winner Sam Smith, who thanked his celebrity nutritionist for helping him change his life and shed more than 14lb in two weeks. The Stay With Me hitmaker has been documenting his path to wellness on Instagram, sharing photos of himself in the gym and eating healthier foods. Last month he thanked his nutritional therapist, Amelia Freer, and her bestselling book Eat Nourish Grow for being the driving force behind his new lifestyle. He wrote: “Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in two weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. Everyone go check out her incredible book and start to live healthy.
