Joined by Scott Disick, Kim Kardashian, her entourage and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians cameras and crew landed in Dubai for a four-day trip last week. The 36-year-old reality star jetted into the UAE to host a make-up masterclass with her long-time glam guru, Mario Dedivanovic. The event marked her first public appearance in months, following her armed robbery ordeal in Paris last October, where she was held at gunpoint and millions of dollars’ worth of her jewellery was stolen, including her engagement rock from husband Kanye West.
Only days before Kim’s arrival, it was revealed that 17 men were arrested in connection with her robbery, including her limo driver, though he has since been released. The star’s terrified statement that she made in the aftermath of her late-night ordeal on 3 October has also been released, with the star clearly in a state of shock after being held captive by five men, who only spoke French. In the months since, Kim has remained largely hidden, only spotted out a handful of times. It’s only in the past few weeks that the 36-year-old has returned to social media, posting grainy images of herself, husband Kanye and their children, three-year-old daughter North and son Saint, one, to her Instagram account.
And now, with a successful visit to Dubai completed, it would seem like it’s back to business for the reality queen. Along with her professional duties at her make-up masterclass, Kim also made sure to have fun while in the region, with shopping, a desert adventure, and a visit to a children’s centre all in her Dubai diary. Read on for her day-by-day activities…
Kim and Scott shared pictures and videos of their almost 16-hour plane journey from Los Angeles to Dubai, before sharing glimpses of their lavish suites in Atlantis The Palm. Scott was greeted by a scuba diver in an underwater fish tank, before he and Kim dined at such an elaborate table, they joked that they had to talk to each other on their phones. Welcome to Dubai, guys!
The star shared pictures from inside her make-up masterclass at MusicHall in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, where Mario gave the audience (who shelled out big bucks to be there) beauty tips and spilled secrets about that all-important contouring. Kim told the crowd that her love of make-up has now been passed on to her daughter North, who has her own set!
Kim began her day at CosmeSurge Cosmetic Clinic in Dubai Marina, where she was treated for her ongoing skin condition, psoriasis. We’re told that the combination of jet-lag and long travel from LA to Dubai triggered a breakout. After her treatment, she hit Mall of the Emirates for a spot of shopping at the Givenchy store. Kim and her entourage then headed to DIFC to have lunch at Cipriani. The restaurant is clearly a favourite amongst the family, as Kris Jenner dined here on her most recent trip to the UAE. On her Snapchat, Kim’s assistant Stephanie Sheppard exclaimed that the restaurant elevator is “bigger than my apartment!” Finishing off a busy day, Kim then travelled out to the desert for an evening of dune buggying and falcon-holding with her squad, which included Dubai-based BFF Carla DiBello, hair stylist Jen Atkin, her assistant Stephanie and PR maven Simon Huck.
Kim began her final day with a visit to Rashid Centre for the Disabled, where she learned about the centre’s work and interacted and danced with the children. She was also treated to a special welcome with a stage performance and a traditional dance. CEO of the centre, Ms Mariam Othman, said that Kim wanted to spend all her time at the centre with the children and that her visit had made them “so happy.”
