Kim Kardashian's Donating Wedding Gift Money to Charity
Her marriage to Kris Humphries broke up in 72 days and Kim
Kardashian was accused of doing it all for the money. Now, even as she's being sued for Dhs18million for promoting an ineffective diet pill, Kim has slammed those earlier stories by donating the money from her wedding gifts to charity.
The reality TV star wed sports ace Kris in August 2011 but filed for divorce just weeks later. She has now
announced that the money from her wedding presents will go towards the Dream
Foundation, which helps the families of patients battling terminal illness.
In a hand-signed note to guests, Kim wrote, "I would
like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift. It has taken
me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the
money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream
Foundation, an organisation that I am very passionate about."
A statement from the charity added, "Kim Kardashian
has made a donation to the Dream Foundation in honour of your generous wedding
gift. Kim felt this was the most fitting way to acknowledge and pay forward
your gift with the same compassion and kindness it was intended."
In other Kim K news floating around, there’s some that’s just not true.
Star magazine has reported that Kim’s heading back to the Middle East to court
a “Saudi prince,” but we happen to know that the goss is so false. The man in
question, philanthropist and film producer Mohammed al Turki told us that the
dating rumours are “categorically untrue”. The two were simply seated next to
each other at a T’Town gala dinner. A statement from his rep added, “Kim was
supporting Mohammed as part of his charitable efforts with the Cinema For Peace
organisation. She continues to support Mohammed in his philanthropic work as a
friend and colleague.”
