Last week, Kim Kardashian met with President Donald Trump to discuss prison reform, and more specifically, her quest to free great-grandmother Alice Marie Johnson from prison.
Well, last night the President directly responded to her plea, has granting clemency to Alice Marie Johnson.
Alice Marie Johnson was serving a life sentence at the Aliceville Correctional Facility in Alabama, for a non-violent, first time drug offence.
"BEST NEWS EVER," Kim tweeted, announcing the news. She then added, "So grateful to @realDonaldTrump, Jared Kushner & to everyone who has showed compassion & contributed countless hours to this important moment for Ms. Alice Marie Johnson. Her commutation is inspirational & gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance."
She then revealed that she had been in touch with Alice Marie Johnson, calling her phone conversation with her "one of my best memories."
Kim, who is married to rapper Kanye West, vowed to continue tackling similar causes and lending her support to officials at "organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition".
Kim's family have spoken out about Kim's bid to free Alice Marie Johnson.
"Kimberly you are such a beautiful person inside and out!!" Khloe Kardashian posted on Twitter. "I am constantly amazed by your determination! No matter what, you never let anyone else dictate your life! What's right is right! You did what was right! God bless you @KimKardashian".
