Kim Kardashian isn’t just the world’s most famous reality TV star, perfume mogul, fashion designer, socialite, model and business woman; she can now also add philanthropist to her resume. The generous star is helping to raise funds for World Aids Day, thanks to profits from her uber-successful mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star will be donating money made from sales of the game until 1 December 2014, with money going to the Global Fund. The charity is aiming to accelerate the end of devastating disease epidemics such as Aids, tuberculosis and malaria.
A statement from the star reads: "Players can show their support by participating in special (charity organisation) (RED) events and purchasing exclusive (RED) in-game items like (RED) Beats headphones.”
She adds: “As a thank you for their support, players can take a (RED) branded selfie with me and share to their social networks! Players can even attend a (RED) fundraiser event in-game. I'm thrilled to be able to support (RED) through Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.”
Kardashian launched the mobile game earlier this year, and it has already been valued at over $200 million (that’s over Dhs730 million!). The game promises players the chance to ‘take over LA’ and experience life as a Kardashian. Kim’s momager Kris Jenner has just announced the arrival of her own avatar to join daughter Kim – complete with her trademark brunette crop and white nail varnish – with sisters Khloe and Kourtney expected to announce their own gaming characters soon.
