Kim Kardashian will always be grateful to "mentor" Paris Hilton for preparing her for life in the spotlight.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's career is chronicled on a new episode of the U.S. docuseries E! True Hollywood Story and the 38 year old credits the hotel heiress, who befriended her before she became a household name, with giving her the advice she needed to help her navigate fame.
"I didn’t know that I was gonna become famous myself, but now looking back, she was such a great mentor for me," Kardashian says in the new interview. "I really am grateful for my experiences with her. She’s a huge, huge reason of my success."
Paris, who took Kim on as an assistant, really helped Kardashian when it came to dealing with the paparazzi.
"I remember we were sitting in her SLR Mercedes and the doors flip up this way," she adds. "And at that point, the paparazzi would lay on the ground to try and get a picture of you, up your dress, and she said, 'OK, we need to make sure you don’t give them that'."
The new episode of E! True Hollywood Story airs on Monday
