UFC fans’ excitement for UFC 242 has only increased with time, and a recent interview by ESPN MMA with Khabib has made the clash a whole lot better.

Current UFC Lightweight Champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, smack talked the Interim UFC Lightweight Champion, Dustin Poirier, just a few days before they meet inside the octagon on September 7.

UFC president Dana White shared a piece of the interview where Khabib was confident that Poirier isn’t ready for him.

The Russian admitted that he was impressed with Poirier’s victory over Max Holloway to become the interim champion. But Khabib then said that even though Poirier can box “nobody can wrestle like me”.

Khabib added that he is different from Poirier’s past opponents because, he would need to wrestle Khabib the whole 25 minutes.

“With them, he would be kickboxing but with me he will have to wrestle. He needs to be ready for this and I don’t think he is ready for this.”
