Keira Knightley Set for Broadway Debut
British actress Keira Knightley will make her Broadway debut next year in a stage adaptation of Emile Zola's novel Thérèse Raquin.
The Begin Again star will lead the cast in director Evan Cabnet's production, based on the 1867 novel penned by French writer Zola, who turned it into a play in 1873.
Previews for the new stage show, presented by The Roundabout Theatre Company, will begin next October.
Knightley will be stepping into a role previously played onscreen by actress Simone Signoret in a 1953 film version and Elizabeth Olsen in a new movie adaptation last year.
Knightley is no stranger to the stage - she earned a prestigious Laurence Olivier Award nomination in the U.K. for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her turn in West End show The Misanthrope in 2009 and returned to the London stage in 2011 for The Children's Hour.
