Meet the MTV EMAs 2013 Winners!
As the MTV Europe Music Awards were announced in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 10 November, it was a rocking day for Katy Perry, crowned Best Female. The Roar hitmaker beat Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift to the prestigious prize at the 20th annual ceremony The visibly shocked star told the audience as she accepted her award: "Thank you, this is so cool. I was just sitting backstage with the artists, thinking I'm not gonna win, I'm not gonna win ... And I won!"
She added later, "I wasn't expecting to win actually, I was just sitting down, thinking I was being set up, and then they called my name and I was like 'What?' It was awesome."
Eminem was the biggest winner of the night, with the star receiving both the Global Icon Award for his achievements in music, as well as the Best Hip-Hop prize thanks to his comeback album The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
