Katy Perryand Russell Brandhave said ‘I do’ but not without major drama. The celebrity couple converged on India with their family and friends for a weekend-long celebration at Aman-I-Khas in Jaipur, Rajasthan but the day before their wedding Russell was involved in an incident that has since been turned over to the police.
The celebration turned ugly the day before the official wedding when Russell was out on safari with his friends and family. In what was set to be a fun-filled day of sightseeing quickly turned into catastrophe for the celeb. During the safari Russell's people allegedly attacked a photographer who has filed a police report against the attacker. "The photographers have filed an official complaint of assault and all witnesses, including Mr. Brand, will be questioned about this," said a Police rep. "Police officers will be going to the hotel...to advise the alleged perpetrators of an arrest and that a case has been filed."
"It is certainly not a good thing because an Indian photographer has been beaten up in his own country by a foreigner. The photographer would like an apology and if the perpetrator is willing to apologise then we can take back the case."
However according to insiders, both Katy and Russell put the incident behind them to focus on their wedding ceremony. They started the celebration by worshipping the statue, Lord Ganesh. The pair then took their places on thrones under a romantic gazebo where a Hindu priest performed the matrimony.
A rep for the couple said: "Russell Brand and Katy Perry are overjoyed to confirm that they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23. The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples' closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India." How romantic.
