The Kennedy’s are hitting the small screen. Yep, that’s right. The series which stars Katie Holmeswas axed by the History Channel earlier this month but producers of the ReelzChannel network have stepped in and saved the day.
The eight-part miniseries which was set to screen in America this season was dropped from the line-up after show producers delivered the finished copy to network bosses.
“While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand," a rep of the network said.
Following the dismissal of the show ReelzChannel stepped in and said, "one of the benefits of being an independent network is that you can be an independent voice and you don’t have to worry about corporate pressure or political pressure. This is a project that deserves to be seen."
Despite pressure from the Kennedy family, the show will go on and is set to premiere on April 3.
