Prince William is Thrilled About Kate's Pregnancy
Following yesterday’s happy news that The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child, more details have emerged regarding the state of her heath and planned public trip to Malta.
In an official statement via Clarence House's twitter account we learned that Kate is suffering with acute morning sickness, as with her previous pregnancy and is being treated by doctors within Kensington Palace.
Acute morning sickness is usually reported around the 6 week mark of a pregnancy, leading us to believe that The Duchess is yet to reach the crucial 12 week stage, as reported by Britain's Daily Mail.
After Kate was forced to pull out of a planned royal visit to Oxford, due to her illness, Prince William attended the event alone, but seemed in good spirits and was happy to talk to the adoring crowd.
According to the New York Daily, the Prince was heard talking about his wife saying: "She's feeling OK, thanks. It's been a tricky few days, week or so, but obviously we're basically thrilled, it's great news, and early days," When asked about the current state of her health, William said. "We're hoping things settle down and she feels a bit better."
Within hours of the announcement many of the British bookmakers were predicting the new royal baby's gender and name speculating Kate is more likely to have another Prince than a Princess, as with when Diana gave birth to William and Harry.
Later this week Kate is due to attend the opening ceremony of Prince Harry's Invictus Games for injured soldiers in London, however her condition, her attendance is in doubt, along with her long planned first solo foreign visit to Malta in a few weeks’ time.
All the team at Ahlan! wish the Duke and Duchess a huge congratulations on the announcement of their baby and we hope the Duchess can show off an adorable baby bump soon!
