Kate Middleton Flashes Some Leg at Royal Afternoon Tea
It was all about blue when Kate Middleton stepped out with her mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law for their first public engagement together. The three generations wore varying shades of the hue, with Kate shunning her usual high-street favourites in favour of a Missoni tweed coat dress. Before you gasp at the price, Kate actually picked up the coat at designer outlet centre, Bicester Village, a few months ago!
It was the Duchess’ hemline that caused the most headlines though. Onlookers got a glimpse of leggy Kate’s thighs as she bent over to greet a young fan, only emphasising the much longer hemlines of the two older Royals.
In true English-style, the trio visited ritzy department store Fortnum and Mason in London for some afternoon tea, followed by a spot of shopping. They toured the luxurious food hall, before attending a tea party.
The appearance of the three royal women together is a clear indication that Kate is well and truly part of the family. She’s said to have charmed Price Charles and Camilla so much that they invited her to stay while her hubby William is on his tour of the Falkland’s as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot. Whoever said you can’t get along with your mother-in-law?
And now, she seems to have won over the Queen! "The invitation would have come from the Queen to the other two and I'm sure we will see lots more joint engagements like this in future," a source told The Daily Mirror.
“Kate has a lot to learn from the more experienced royals and what better way to see how it’s done than to watch the expert, the Queen, at work up close.”
And what better way to bond than over a cup of tea and some crustless cucumber sandwiches!
