On Friday, Kanye West released his new music video Famous, in which the rapper’s lying in bed with his wife Kim Kardashian. Though, the married couple isn’t alone as other stars like Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Bill Cosby, Caitlyn Jenner, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, even his ex-Amber Rose, and more are sharing their bed, with their modesty on show. (What does it all mean?)
According to Vanity Fair, it took three months to film the controversial video and apparently not all celebs featured are fake – some did agree to pose bald beside Kanye and Kim. The rapper didn’t reveal anything on the subject, yet…
Before the video, the song itself hit a controversial note when Kanye first played it during New York Fashion Week, earlier this year. In the lyrics, the All Day rapper implies that he and Taylor Swift could be bedfellows and that he made her famous.
Kanye then claimed Taylor Swift approved the lyrics, but the 29-year-old denied Kanye’s statement.
Kim took her husband’s defence during a recent interview with GQ magazine. She stated that the Bad Blood singer was actually okay with the track and that she liked the idea of shocking the world. Taylor said: “When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I'll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time’.”
A spokesperson for Taylor quickly claimed that the 34-year-old star’s comments were “incorrect”, saying that Kanye’s putting a lot of pressure on Kim and she’s “only repeating what she has been told.”
Despite all the controversy, Kanye West said his new video was actually a tribute to artist Vincent Desiderio’s Sleep painting.
