At the height of her career JODIE KIDD was one of the world's top models.

But for the past year the former catwalk star's life has been in freefall as she became embroilled in a drugs scandal and piled on weight through her obsession with junk food.

The model-turned-TV presenter was caught allegedly trying to sell cocaine to an undercover journalist last year and now, in the latest twist, she has been dropped by her model agency after losing several lucrative contracts.

Leading London-based model agency Independent, which has represented 29-year-old Jodie for most of her career, has taken her off its books.

Sources say Jodie, who was tipped to be as successful as KATE MOSS because of her waif-like frame, striking face and towering height, was unfazed by the drugs scandal.

"Jodie was a bit arrogant and thought a drugs scandal would be as beneficial for her as for Kate Moss," says a source.

"But the fact is, Jodie isn't in the same league as Kate. She wasn't looking after herself and piled on weight by eating junk food. It was proving hard to get her any work at all."

Jodie lost her £250,000-a-year contract with Marks Spencer last September, after she was seen allegedly drug dealing.

She then tried to forge a career as a TV presenter.

But in May she lost her contract with Channel 4 to present the Red Bull Air Race and was replaced by ex-Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq.

When asked about why they gave Jodie the heave-ho, Independent said: ‘We're not representing Jodie any more. She's not modelling at the moment and wants to do more TV presenting.'
