Julia Roberts narrowly escaped injury as she greeted fans on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on after a metal barricade came crashing down at her feet.
The barrier, which was intended to keep devotees at a distance as the stars arrived at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, toppled over as some members of the crowd pushed forward to shake Roberts' hand, causing a number of fans to fall, too.
The Pretty Woman star dodged the falling gate and then made sure everyone was OK as security guards put the barrier back in its place.
Joking as she discussed the scary moment with E! News reporter Giuliana Rancic, she said, "They (fans) all fell over, they are OK. I checked everyone, I gave a little bit of CPR, everybody's good. That hasn't (happened to me before). It (the barrier) was like, down."
