Jennifer Lawrence may have beaten T’Town records with an enormous $9.5 million (Dhs35 million) pay rise to appear in The Hunger Games sequel! The first blockbuster flick grossed $690 million (Dhs2.5 billion) at the box office this spring and Jen wants a big piece of the pie. The Hollywood newcomer will earn $10 million (Dhs37 million) for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – a pay rise of almost 2,000 per cent from her first pay cheque of $500,000 (Dhs1.8 million), an increase that beats other franchise stars including Johnny Depp for Pirates of the Caribbean, Daniel Radcliffe for Harry Potter and even K-Stew for Twilight!

But not everyone’s congratulating her. Insiders tell us that Jen’s co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are upset and demanding a “significant pay rise” or they’ll pull out of the second film! Our source revealed, “They have even said they may not return for the sequel, which they hope will be a bargaining chip for a bigger pay packet.”

In the flicks, 24-year-old Jen plays main character Katniss Everdeen, while Josh plays fellow Hunger Games contestant Peeta, and Liam acts as Katniss’ best friend Gale. Jen’s co-stars are allegedly demanding $3 million (Dhs11 million) more than what they were originally offered, or they’ll walk. The source added, “They’re not demanding as much as Jennifer, they’re aware she plays a bigger role in the films, but they want a little more than the $2 million (Dhs7.3 million) they were each offered. They feel that $5 million (Dhs18.3 million) is a more suitable fee and are haggling with the studio before dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s on their deals.” Will the leading lady be left without her leading men? Stay tuned...
