On Sunday night, during the BET Awards, Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to famed singer Prince by singing his song Purple Rain, and she really rocked the venue!
The 34-year-old Spotlight singer wore a short white dress with a hood, similar to Prince’s outfit at the People’s Choice Awards in 2005, and sang the artist’s renowned track.
After Jennifer’s mind-blowing performance, fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts with one saying: “Jennifer Hudson be singing like the fate of the free world depends on her, nailing it everytime. #BETAwards”, while another fan wrote: “A goddess sang tonight for Prince. No one could do any better. Tears of gratitude, soul beauty”.
Earlier in the evening, Stevie Wonder, Tori Kelly, The Roots and more also celebrated the bygone singer who died two months ago.
Rest In Peace Prince…
