When it comes to weddings in Celebville, it’s hard to keep it a secret. With so many guests, preparations and organisers involved, it’s pretty much impossible to hide an A-list wedding. But just like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s highly secret nuptials in 2014, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux also managed to keep their entire 5 August wedding a secret. Not just from us, but from their guests too!
So how did the couple tie the knot at their Bel Air home without the world finding out? Insiders reveal that they relied on a variety of clever tactics, including hiding all their party equipment in a nearby vacant house. As the time drew closer, tables, chairs and supplies were carefully transported to their mansion in unmarked trucks. There was also a special area covered in umbrellas where a security guard monitored everyone going in and out of the property. With shrubbery between the two properties making it impossible to see what was being transported, it allowed the wedding planners to move all the equipment to Jen and Justin’s mansion at the eleventh hour. Impressive!
It also helped that the people involved had no idea what they were planning and setting up. According to TMZ.com, everyone was told Jen was simply throwing a 44th birthday party for Justin. Staff members on duty were left in the dark about the proceedings. They were banned from parking anywhere near the property or bringing their mobile phones with them. Even their celebrity friends were fooled, thinking they were showing up at a surprise birthday party for Justin. The surprise element meant that nobody would turn up late. But the surprise was on them, with the real occasion revealed to them on arrival.
And a star-studded affair it certainly was! Celebs including Howard Stern, Ellen DeGeneres, Tobey Maguire’s wife and jeweller Jennifer Meyer, actress Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski, Robert Downey Jr, comedian Chelsea Handler, Jimmy Kimmel and Jen’s Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow were all there to witness the union. And, of course, Jen’s bestie, Courteney Cox, served as maid of honour.
For the reception itself, the couple opted for fun over tradition. Jen and Justin exchanged their vows during a simple outdoor ceremony, with a Muppets-themed cake, and guests seated on a tables, ottomans and outdoor sofas on a wooden deck. Afterwards Australian singer Sia performed, with DJ Samantha Ronson hitting the decks until the wee hours at the party.
Sounds like a fun night. The only thing missing was our invite!
Their ‘Romantic’ Honeymoon… With Their Best Friends!
With a lavish A-list wedding comes a luxury honeymoon, of course! The morning after the wedding Jen and Justin headed off to popular honeymoon spot The Four Seasons Resort in French Polynesia’s Bora Bora. But unlike most honeymoons, they brought their friends along! Celeb pals Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman with wife Amanda and Courteney Cox were all spotted arriving on the island to join the newlyweds. The hotel’s suites, which start at over $1,500 (Dhs5,500) a night, provide an intimate and romantic setting surrounded by picturesque views. The rooms’ terraces face the turquoise lagoon and stunning private beach. The five-star resort also boasts a luxurious infinity pool, tennis court and special spa treatments.
Jen Is Heading To The UAE!
Once the honeymoon is over Jen is getting back to work, which includes a trip to Dubai! Jen has landed a lucrative deal with Emirates worth around $5 million (that’s over Dhs18m!) as the new face of the Dubai-based airline. According to reports, she’s already shot a campaign for the airline and will appear in TV and print ads worldwide. Clearly, 2015 has been a good year for Jen and we can’t wait to congratulate her in person…
