In a city overflowing with Italian restaurants, home-grown Solo (brought to us by the folks behind Japanese Tomo), which translates to ‘only’, differentiates with an unusual dining concept ‘bistronomia’. A combination of bistro and gastronomia (gastronomy), Bistronomia refers to a twist on haute cuisine, where the portions are generous and served in a relaxed, convivial setting - all at an affordable price. The team throughout, from the design, to kitchen and front-of-house are all Italian. Dubai veteran and chef-cum-partner, Corrado Pani helms the open-plan kitchen which serves homemade dishes, family-style peppered across Italy’s diverse regions from Lombardy and Tuscany to Campania and Sicily.

China Grill Docks in Dubai
US restaurant hot spot China Grill has docked in Dubai at the Westin. Don’t expect typical traditional Chinese cuisine, this restaurant takes fusion to a different level adding Asian ingredients into European dishes. Think steamed pancake buns with Peking duck and caviar; doughnut rolls stuffed with lobster; and wasabi mashed potatoes. Is that enough to whet your appetite?
